Your museum visit ends here, but the story of the First World War in and around Zonnebeke continues in the landscape. Thousands of people still travel to this region to experience history. Even in the 1920s, tens of thousands of family members came here to visit the graves of their loved ones, a journey that was often regarded as a pilgrimage. In the middle of the room is an interactive module that helps you to investigate the many relics of war in the area. We invite you to discover the surroundings of Zonnebeke, on foot, by bicycle or in a car. The kiosk offers you various options, depending on your interests. You can explore Polygon Wood, for example, or the many bunkers in the area, or Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest British Military cemetery in the world. When leaving this room, you can put your audio guide in the container to the right. Thank you for visiting the Passchendaele Museum and for helping to keep the memory of the First World War alive. See you again soon!
