308 - Architecture Tour - Kisha and Jason Itkin Partisan Forest

NARRATOR The Kisha and Jason Itkin Partisan Forest honors important but often overlooked people who fought against Nazism during the Holocaust: the partisans. MARK We wanted to convey that sense of rescue and resisting, which is a story that's not often told when you talk about the Holocaust. And there are so many compelling stories of the righteous gentiles that helped the Jews, of Jews that helped themselves in so many ways. NARRATOR CEO Dr. Kelly Zúñiga: KELLY They wanted to live and support, help people that were being captured and murdered by the Nazis The majority of them were very, very young and they had such hope for the future and for the Jewish people. MARK And our idea of capturing that whole topic was to dedicate a portion of the building that brings the outside in. So, we have huge plate glass that will have a view of the forest just outside of the glass.
