Anthony It is one of the wildest, and most beautiful parts of Ireland’s Ancient East. Alex Powerscourt was declared by National Geographic as the third most beautiful garden in the world.This map shows the locations of the thirty audio stops. They are scattered around the gardens. They can be visited in any order but we recommend listening to the first two stops because they provide an essential introduction to the tour. Sarah It is usual to tour the gardens in an anti-clockwise direction so please turn right when leaving Powerscourt House. The two kilometer circuit can take 1.5 hours to complete. It involves climbing up and down some hills.

Its classical statues make Powerscourt a Garden of the Gods. Four major figures symbolize its qualities. They are Apollo, Diana, Fame and Victory. We have coloured the stop signs. We hope this will help you find stories that match your interests. The audio at the blue Apollo stop signs celebrates the art and architecture here. The green Diana stop signs highlight the natural wonders of these gardens. The gold Fame stop signs focus on the achievements of the Wingfield and Slazenger families. Welcome to Powerscourt Gardens in County Wicklow, one of the most beautiful gardens in Ireland! Powerscourt Gardens was ranked No.3 in the World’s Top Ten Gardens by National Geographic. We advise a minimum of 90 minutes to make the most of your visit to the gardens.The Gardens stretch over 47 acres and offer visitors a sublime blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, statues and ornamental lakes, secret hollows and rambling walks. Managed by Head Gardener, Alex Slazenger and a team of four gardeners, Powerscourt Gardens were designed from 1731 onwards, with the desire to create a garden which was part of the wider surrounding landscape. Powerscourt Gardens include The Walled Gardens, The Italian Garden, The Dolphin Pond, The Japanese Gardens, Pets Cemetery and Pepperpot Tower, among other features and attractions.
