‘Fortunately Joyce frequented and wrote about a lot of pubs’ Lee Miller noted. Her trail around Dublin included many stops in some of the city’s most vibrant watering holes, starting from the Scotch House pub, Burgh Quay, which features in the ‘Counterparts’ story in Dubliners. Miller then moved on to The Palace Bar, Fleet Street, The Ormond Hotel on Ormond Quay, Davy Byrne’s on Duke Street and, most notably, Barney Kiernan’s Bar near the Four Courts.
