There are more drawings known from this period. It is the use of speech bubbles that makes this so unique. In the drawing above and to your left Bernhard of Meur’s servant kneels before the Duke and hands him the ransom letter. In the middle is shown what happened in Peronne. Karel of Egmond is imprisoned and says that he will free Bernhard within two months or return to prison himself. This was sealed with a handshake. Noblemen from Gelderland were witness to this. In the second picture Bernhard takes the place of Karel of Egmond. You can recognise the Duke by the coat of arms of Gelderland above his head.
