This image shows a customer in Barney Kiernan’s pub. Lee described him: “The old bird sitting in the back room is one of the regulars from Joyce’s day. He remembers him well but is not vastly interested as his favourite people are all the political assassins etc. Full of tales of them…” As Miller photographed the bar children from the local slums turned up and burst in through the doors, presumably looking to get photographed. She also met the bar manager, Mr. Bolger, who lived above the premises with his wife and child.
